Job Summary:

Under the oversight of the Director of Cybersecurity, the Network Security Engineer constructs, configures, manages, and sustains the core network infrastructure, focusing on routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VOIP telecommunications systems to ensure robust cybersecurity measures.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Plan, design, and implement secure network architectures, firewall configurations, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and potential security threats.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses in the network.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance routines and change control processes for assigned systems to ensure optimal operation while minimizing business impact.
  • Performs regular system backups and validates them by disaster recovery testing.
  • Develop and enforce NETWORK SECURITY policies and procedures.
  • Implement security measures to harden network devices and systems.
  • Proactively monitors and maintains intrusion detection systems to identify and neutralize NETWORK SECURITY threats.
  • Provides technical training to end users regarding infrastructure systems use and procedures.
  • Prepares and maintains technical records and documentation in conformance to department standards.
  • Implement and maintain SIEM solutions for real-time analysis of security alerts.
  • Work closely with other IT teams and departments to ensure a holistic approach to security.
  • Regularly update and patch network devices to address known vulnerabilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Preference is given to qualified Santa Ana Tribal Members.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience required.
  • Three (3) years’ experience maintaining network backbone infrastructure in an enterprise environment required.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification preferred.
  • Prior experience in a casino IT environment preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pueblo of Santa Ana Gaming and Regulatory Commission key gaming license.
