Colorado Public Radio (CPR) is seeking an IT Manager.
About the Position:
The IT Manager contributes to the success of CPR by maintaining the organization’s technology and networking infrastructure while also leading and mentoring IT staff. As a leader of a support team, this position is critical to ensuring that our staff’s technology needs and issues are addressed. The IT Manager will ensure that IT work plans, security, compliance and procedures are developed, implemented and reviewed. It is responsible for high-level system and network administration tasks. This position determines work priorities, develops staff schedules, delegates and monitors work tasks, projects and assignments, and coaches and develops team members on a regular basis.
This is not a remote position. Our IT Manager is expected to reside in the Denver Metro area upon starting. The IT Manager is part of an on-call rotation, but as a manager and subject matter expert, could be contacted after-hours when not on rotation.
About You:
You are more than a technology subject matter expert in system and networking administration, you are a supportive manager and mentor who enjoys the challenges and rewards that come from coaching and developing staff. You’re an analytical problem solver, excited to research new trends, tools, and gaps in your own knowledge in order to best recommend technology solutions for now and in the future. You are organized and detail oriented and have a proven record of seeing projects through. You have a high standard of service that you provide to others, utilizing strong active listening skills, diplomacy and tact. You have strong written and verbal communication skills and use these to effectively work with users and leaders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive server and workstation administration experience. This experience should also include working with VPNs, firewalls, routing and switching and utilizing best practices to make decisions about network, hardware and software policy.
- A minimum of 3 years of staff management experience. While this management experience does not need to be in a technology position, it must include staff mentorship, coaching, and performance management.
- Experience in MS Windows / Servers, standard network services, virtualization, RDP remote access/apps, Google Workspace, MS-SQL Server, 2FA, Fortinet firewalls/switches and VOIP phone systems.
- Experience in handling annual and/or project budgets.
- Proven ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users.
- While not required, it’s beneficial if you have MacOS, Linux, MS Office, MDM, Crowdstrike and audio editing program experience.
- Ability to lift 25 - 50 lbs
Education Equivalency:
- None, but a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or CompTIA A+ certification and Network+ certification, may help contribute to the minimum years of experience needed to qualify for the position.
