Position Overview
Methods Machine Tools is seeking to hire an IT Manager based in Sudbury, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate with proven leadership experience will possess a broad range of skills and a hands-on approach to tackling technical challenges.
You will leverage your existing experience to drive our ERP systems and network administration to ensure servers, software applications, and hosted environments are running smoothly and efficiently.
As the IT Manager, you will be working directly with the CFO and functional heads to design and implement the corporate IT strategy. You’re responsible for supporting business processes and systems by designing and executing projects and solutions as well as provide ongoing IT maintenance in various domains (such as Sales, Service, Application Engineering and Operations).
Key Responsibilities
1. Managing Information Technology and Computer Systems:
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the company’s computing systems.
- Hands-on position requiring involvement in resolving day-to-day issues
- Ensure that employees have the necessary technology tools, such as reliable laptops and secure business application access cellphones, Mi fi devices and tablets
- Maintain laptop and peripheral inventory
- Maintain and manage all licenses for software and cloud applications
- Manage telecom relationships and ensure SLA compliance
- Manage Microsoft business environment including office 365, Azure, both cloud and on premises deployments
2. Supervising IT Staff:
- Recruit, train, and coach IT employees.
- Communicate job expectations and evaluate their performance.
- Lead and grow a team of 3 IT employees as well as an outsourced managed services firm
3. Designing and Implementing Systems:
- Collaborate with other departments (such as HR and finance) to develop effective policies and procedures.
- Coordinate system design, development, and implementation.
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce all systems, policies and procedures implemented by the company to ensure that our IT department is meeting business needs and management standards.
- Manage maintain and develop SharePoint internal and external sites
- Manage and maintain Datalake (Snowflake) resources
- Manage and maintain Power BI infrastructure including workspace access and overall design.
4. ERP System Responsibilities:
- Serve as an ERP system lead with overall responsibility for Infor SyteLine ERP system.
- Provide knowledge and understanding as a technical expert in the area of ERP systems.
- Maintain and automate key tasks to ensure SyteLine is running optimally.
- Manage and maintain systems integration with critical line of business applications Syteline, Service Now and Salesforce.
5. Other Responsibilities:
- Manage policies, procedures, security audits/changes, regulatory compliance, asset and licensing management and cloud-based application configuration and management.
- Lead system implementation projects to ensure it meets scope, quality, timelines, and budget constraints
- Serve as the liaison between the company and their third-party vendors and consultants.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or similar work experience
- 5 – 10 years hands-on experience working in an IT department
- Prior work experience in a Manufacturing, procurement, logistics type operation
- Understanding of functionality and development within Infor SyteLine – the ideal candidate will have had experience with SyteLine ERP and has been through at least one major upgrade or implementation.
- Experience with programming languages such as VB.Net, C#, T-SQL
- Database systems experience with SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, and SQL Server Analysis Server
- Familiar with CRM and Service tools, how they integrate into an ERP system, comfortable using outside experts
- Understanding of network administration and architecture
- Depending on the assignment, working independently or participating as a team member. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in both situations.
- Strong organizational and project management skills – prior leadership experience is a plus.
