IT Linux (RedHat) System Administrator (NC730338)

Initially a 6 Month Contract

The primary role is to install and configure the Linux operating system as well as manage and maintain Linux-based systems on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform.

The position will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and more. It will also be responsible for System maintenance by reviewing error logs, system backups, monitoring system performance to prevent slowdowns and disruptions, License deployments and setup, may include setting up a Linux Satellite server and deployment manager, and providing any needed technical support.

This position will provide hands-on technical support for system security monitoring and optimizing the performance of these systems, as well as troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise. Additionally, this resource may be responsible for managing and maintaining other related technologies such as DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IPAM).
Strong knowledge of Linux administration, AWS, and networking are required for this role.

This position is required to be on call for evenings and weekends to meet business needs.

Pay: $72.60 - $77.60 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• scripting skills, specifically in Bash or Python: 7 years (Preferred)
• user account management for large organization: 7 years (Preferred)
• cloud infrastructure, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS): 3 years (Preferred)
• Linux administration with Red Hat Enterprise Linux: 3 years (Preferred)
• monitoring & troubleshooting Linux systems and applications: 5 years (Preferred)
• Linux OS Patch and OS Level Vulnerability Management: 7 years (Preferred)
• Cookie & Web Browser Security: 3 years (Preferred)
• Server-side & Data encryptions: 3 years (Preferred)
• Rest and Key management: 3 years (Preferred)
• Image Management using Redhat Image: 3 years (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• Durham, NC 27709: Relocate before starting work (Required)
