POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the IT intern position will allow college students the opportunity to develop their skills by being provided in-person training opportunities as they work on entry level tasks and assignments in a technical, high-paced, and professional work environment. The IT Intern will also assist in support and maintenance within the corporate computing environment for the help desk. This is a paid, onsite position working up to 25 hours per week (flexible scheduling available).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: may include any or all of the following.
- Answer phone calls to the Help Desk
- Work Tickets as assigned to the ITSM Application
- Troubleshoot customer issues with computers and mobile phones
- Participate in IT Department meetings
- Participate in Help Desk team meetings
- Participate in one-on-one meetings with Help Desk Manager
- Recommend documentation or procedures for installations or other job-related items.
- Configure and deploy laptops and iPhones to employees
- Provide weekly status report to IT management
- Perform all responsibilities of this position while continually presenting a positive and professional example for the rest of the team and the company. This must be portrayed throughout all communication methods and all actions performed by this individual.
- Demonstrate sound decision-making, good communications, (both verbal and written), organizational and time management skills.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (COMPETENCY STATEMENTS):
- Must be pursing bachelor’s degree.
- Basic understanding of Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Teams, Applications, Network, and Hardware
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret written information, write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar; vary writing style to meet needs and present numerical data effectively.
- Have the ability to multitask and work on multiple projects
- Have the ability to work scheduled hours as needed.
- Have the ability to provide personal customer service and satisfaction. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and currently pursuing an advanced degree
Computer skills:
- Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Applications.
