WE ARE LOOKING HIRE IT FIELD TECHNICIANS
Full Time Temporary (6 - 12 months)
The Field Technician will troubleshoot, repair, and install a variety of POS systems and other restaurant IT equipment. The successful person for the position is a self-starter, with strong troubleshooting abilities, able to travel daily to restaurants, perform our equipment installation and repair needs.
Responsibilities
· Travel locally/regionally to perform installs, repairs, and support for our restaurants.
· Confident with the utilization of multiple tools (drill, oscillating saw, tape measure, punch down tool, compression and crimp tools, strippers, cable tester)
· Installations/Repairs include PCs, printers, monitors, POS systems, routers, switches, signature capturing devices, access points, televisions, antennas, TV mounts, audio/video systems, telephone systems, and cable replacement.
· Performs upgrades and additions to systems to increase functionality and usability.
· Installs and repairs low voltage cabling to code, electronic devices, service control equipment.
· Troubleshoot on-site restaurant equipment; identify and implement solutions to ensure timely repairs.
· Inventory control of IT equipment and systems.
· Manage daily schedule utilizing a ticketing system.
· Assist lead Technicians with restaurant remodels.
· Must have good communication skills and the ability to solve problems quickly and logically, as the environment is fast paced and technically demanding.
· Must be familiar with the installation and operations of different types of network and low voltage cables (twisted pair cables, coaxial, audio and video, 2, 4, and 6 conductor cable)
· Troubleshoot/Repair Point of Sale and proprietary related equipment, to include drive thru audio systems, vehicle detection and timer systems.
· Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and wireless technologies.
Required Education and Experience
· 3- 5 years of experience in field tech and IT support role.
· Intermediate or above knowledge in troubleshooting Windows operating systems and MS office.
· Previous experience with software, hardware and peripheral installations.
· Experience/ knowledge in installing low voltage wiring, terminations, and making repairs preferred.
· Knowledge of POS retail experience is helpful but not required.
· Experience in troubleshooting POS hardware and software is a plus.
This position requires 95% travel in the field. Potential for nighttime installations and for overnight travel to provide support for restaurants in other markets. There is also a potential for emergency calls on the weekends or after hours.
· Excellent Customer Service skills with ability to provide support to all levels of users.
· Ability to work independently and part of a team.
· Strong technical skills with the ability to trouble shoot, diagnose and repair restaurant equipment.
· Ability to work on ladders and rooftops to install camera system and TV systems.
· Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. when moving, installing various computer/ electronic devices and peripherals.
· Valid driving license and a good driving record with the ability to make own travel arrangements.
· Reliability and the ability to self-manage and prioritize assigned tasks from ticket queue is a MUST.
