Scope of Work:
GreatStar Tools, USA (GSTU) is seeking an IT Director to oversee its IT Operations and Helpdesk needs for multiple locations within the US. The role will oversee and direct the day-to-day activities of the organization’s IT Operations, Cyber / Digital Security and Helpdesks, ensuring that systems, services, and supporting infrastructure work reliably and securely. The manager will lead a team of employees, vendors, and others through direct and matrix reporting relationships to manage the IT Operations and monitor our systems to ensure stability and performance. This role will report to the VP IT.
In this role, The IT Director is responsible for overseeing and managing our organization's IT infrastructure team(s). The IT Director will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing our organization's IT infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and security principles, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the IT Infrastructure, Telecomm, Operations, and Helpdesk for GreatStar Tools USA subsidiaries and in alignment with GSTU’s practices.
- Work at a strategic level collaborating with IT Leadership and business leaders to define technology roadmaps.
- Plan, design, and implement IT Infrastructure projects to support business objectives.
- Develop and manage the IT team along with outside vendors and resources; providing recommendations for hiring, and development, allowing the team to meet the changing needs of organization. This also includes establishing vendor relationships, negotiating agreements, and holding vendors accountable to milestones and quality delivery.
- Plan, design, and implement IT infrastructure maintenance & projects to support business objectives.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to other IT teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of new technology initiatives.
- Develop and maintain IT infrastructure policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and security best practices.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the resilience of IT infrastructure in the event of a disaster or outage.
- Oversee the maintenance and support of IT infrastructure, including servers, network devices, storage systems, and software applications. i.e. common IT Ticketing, Cyber / Digital Security, Business Solution Monitoring, Release Mgmt., Managed Service, ITIL processes (incident, problem, release mgmt.), Physical Security, and Disaster Recovery/Backup and Recovery
- Monitor and maintain the security of the IT infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control policies.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts with IT infrastructure service providers.
- Responsible for continuous delivery of on/off-premises infrastructure services, 24/7
- Champion process maturity by leading change management activities for technical teams to ensure compliance to all departmental policies and procedures."
- Ensure operational and technical support is provided to meet/exceed established service level objectives for all assigned infrastructure services.
- Lead infrastructure-related change management initiatives.
- Measure and monitor infrastructure performance.
- Lead planning, selection, and procurement of assigned technology and services.
- Participate in the implementation of IT and business projects; review projects and resource requests; coordinate schedules and activities to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and delivered solutions meet identified requirements.
- Resolve Helpdesk Escalations, Level 3, and Level 1-2 if IT technicians are unable to successfully resolve a user’s issue.
Technical Skills:
- Extensive experience with Cisco Firewalls, Switches, APs and Meraki network
- Extensive experience with MS 365 environments and management
- Oversee Upgrades and Installations to streamline the upgrade process, monitor the system to ensure that it remains stable and usable, and maintain data security through the migration process.
- Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems.
- Extensive hands-on experience with software and hardware is critical.
- Architecture and Design - This position requires a broad knowledge of technical best practices to plan and deploy new solutions.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years managing IT infrastructure, security and network, along with team(s) responsible IT Operations and Helpdesk required, a background with consumer products companies a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of commensurate experience and professional certification
- Successful experience in configuring and administering Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Networking & virtual environments
- Advanced analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in various IT technologies, including but not limited to networking (firewalls, switches) and systems administration (server management, physical and cloud).
- Proficient in systems administration and data center management.
- Familiar with database management, cybersecurity, and application management strategy.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Azure Active Directory, Exchange, etc.)
- Knowledge of Active Directory for effective user and permission management.
- Adept at quickly mastering and implementing new technologies, tools, and techniques.
- Strong communicator, both written and verbal with an ability to present to any level of the organization.
- Demonstrates troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a focus toward root cause analysis and long-term resolution.
- Demonstrated ability in developing new processes and driving change.
- Must have a strong dedication to customer service.
- Travel up to 25%
