Job Title: IT Desktop and Applications Support

Job Summary:

The Department of Radiation Oncology, Division of Medical Physics has a full time opening for an Information Technology professional. This position will report to the IT Program Director and will be responsible for the day to day management of IT operations. Position will coordinate with multiple departments and organizations across the front range of Colorado to effectively implement, maintain, and upgrade hardware and software that supports the clinical, education and research functions of the Department of Radiation Oncology. This includes locations at the Anschutz Medical Campus, Highlands Ranch Medical Center, Cherry Creek Medical Center, Longs Peak Medical Center, and additional sites as needed. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Desktop, laptop, and mobile device support for all radiation oncology staff, including physicians, physicists, medical residents, physics residents, research labs, and support staff at multiple locations across the Front Range.

  • Support and maintenance of research labs including the animal irradiator core, vivarium, computers attached to medical devices, microscopes, imaging devices, software, on-prem storage servers.

  • Responsible for installation new software versions and/or performing system upgrades, including coordinating with vendors on vendor-installed software and hardware.

  • Responsible for ensuring the software and hardware systems as well as the network connectivity are operating normally to support clinical operations.

  • Responsible for coordination of archiving and retrieval of patient data within UCHealth systems and servers

Minimum Qualifications:

Entry Professional:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management of computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Intermediate Professional:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 2-3 years of professional level experience with IT desktop support and Applications Support.

  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Senior Professional:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 4-5 years of professional level experience with IT desktop support and Applications Support.

  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Principle Professional:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

The level requires extensive, diverse and progressively responsible experience, including direct responsibility for system administration, support and maintenance local desktop applications. Previous experience managing Desktop and application support for more than 50 users.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience with Desktop, laptop and mobile device support including software installation and system upgrades.

  • 1-2 years application support

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, Windows OS, and Mac operating systems.

  • Experience with Active Directory, Windows Imaging, Scripting, Powershell, SCCM / Configuration Manager, Windows Server, iDRAC, and other remote systems management

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:

Entry Professional: $50,733 - $64,532

Intermediate Professional: $55,209 - $70,226

Senior Professional: $59,686 - $75,920

Principle Professional: $68,639 - $87,308

The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
