Job description

The Business Development Lead will be responsible for executing prospect activities with potential new clients, qualifying leads, and ensuring client success—with an emphasis on converting cold leads into warm opportunities, and scheduling meetings for account executives to further develop and close sales opportunities. This role will also maintain personal inside sales and revenue targets for both individual production as well as lead the sales initiatives of the BDR team.
This Business Development Lead will contribute to the growth of the BDR Team, by leading the hiring, training and development of new BDR team members, to ensure they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to be successful.

Primary Responsibilities
Sales & Lead Generation Area of Focus
Represent the New Charter Technologies Corporate Brand, in addition to Operating Company brands, effectively with comprehensive knowledge of our IT solutions and services
Solicit new business prospects, qualify cold leads and transition leads to warm opportunities
Partner with meeting schedulers and Operating Company account managers to transition warm leads to closed deals
Focus on top of the funnel inbound and outbound lead generating activities with an interest in transitioning the customer journey for execution through the sales funnel to account executives
Maintain expert knowledge on company sales process, content, promotions, and prospect profiling
Create and execute strategic sales plans to expand our customer base and extend New Charter’s global reach
Collaborate with marketing to build targeted prospect lists and craft campaigns to generate leads
Research consumer needs and identify how our solutions address them; becoming a subject matter expert
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending industry educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Lead day-to-day activities of the Business Development team including helping to establish quotas, and tracking performance management
Work alongside the Growth Team, third party vendors, and our Operating Companies on refining prospecting techniques, sales pitches, and objection handling
Analyze metrics to identify areas of improvement and success for lead generation, identify knowledge gaps within the team, and develop plans for filling them
Partner with leadership on lead generation strategies, campaigns, events, and other initiatives

Business Development Team Leadership Areas of Focus
As the BDR team grows, lead day-to-day activities of the BDR team and Operating Company sales personnel, including helping to establish quotas, onboarding and coaching new sales personnel, and tracking performance management
Work with BDRs on refining prospecting techniques, sales pitches, and objection handling
Analyze metrics to identify areas of improvement and success for BDR performance, identify knowledge gaps within the team, and develop plans for filling them
Lead ongoing sales coaching, mentoring, and training programs for the BDR team
Motivate team to achieve individual and team goals through incentive plans and competition by holding regular sales team check-ins for setting objectives and monitoring progress

Fit
4 to 5+ years of experience in a sales environment required
1 to 2 years of experience in sales leadership preferable
Proven track record of success with lead generating sales activities from planning to cold calling, to transitioning of warm leads
Experience using a CRM to manage the sales process and forecast sales required, HubSpot CRM preferred
Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing sales data and KPIs
Ability to design and implement successful sales strategies
MSP industry or IT Industry experience strongly preferred
Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or Business Management preferred

Physical Requirements
Work is primarily knowledge-worker oriented using computer systems. Occasional exertion and lifting of up to 20 pounds to move office or computer equipment. Occasional crawling, kneeling, and squatting. Constant use of computer (keyboard/mouse), and phone. Visually inspects, prepares, and analyzes data & figures; views computer constantly. Occasional travel (car). Occasional exposure to outdoor environmental conditions as a result of travel.
