Purpose of the Role
General Purpose: The Application Administrator is responsible for application deployment including installing, configuring, and supporting user application software, while also maintaining and repairing routine to complex problems with system hardware and software. This role will have production responsibility for critical applications, including the company ERP. The Applications Administrator will work with managers and key stakeholders to ensure overall quality and sustainability of business processes, propose solutions based business requirements and act as a business analyst liaison between business users and IT. The position is based out of Saunders headquarters in the DTC and a hybrid schedule is available.
Functions / Duties
- Develop and maintain partnerships across business areas with leaders and department heads
- Perform installation, and configuration of the operating system (including hardware and software), new software releases, and upgrades
- Monitor, tune, diagnose, and resolve operating system, application, and database problems
- Troubleshoot and maintain applications and integrations
- Develop, test, and implement scripts to automate common functions or system operations
- Consult with users to identify existing system problems then evaluate and recommend various software and hardware solutions to meet user needs
- Migrate code from non-Production to Production instance (deployments)
- Design and develop migration scripts, implement monitoring and alerting
- Manage permissions and access provisioning on an application level, system level, data management, and middleware
- Configure monitoring systems to proactively ensure application performance
- Develop SQL queries and views for reporting tools that need data access to systems (Oracle, SQL DBs)
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Other duties as assigned may include:
- Test scripting, requirements gathering and process documentation
- Vendor support management for issues and DBA services
- Special projects from time to time to evaluate and implement new technologies
- Developing SQL queries within a report writing tool
- Learning quickly, the ability to identify the root cause of issues, and recommend possible solutions for our customers will be key qualities to success in this position

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities / Qualifications / Experience
- Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics or a related field
- Experience Requirement: 5 years of professional Information Technology experience installing, maintaining, and/or modifying application software, operating system and/or network operating system software, preferably within the Construction Industry
- Experience supporting an ERP, preferably in the construction industry
- Ability to lead internal customers through the SDLC process from problem definition, requirements gathering, design, testing and implementation
- Project management experience
- Experience configuring workflows
- Experience supporting an ERP, preferably in the construction industry
- Must hold a valid driver's license
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
- Must pass a background check

- Spends approximately 70% of the time sitting, and 30% of the time either standing or walking while on the job.
- Occasionally* lifts up to 15 lbs, when moving project binders, office supplies or files, and may stoop, kneel, crouch, and balance while performing these same functions.
- Occasionally required to climb, crawl, stoop and negotiate ladders, stairs or other routes at and within project sites in order to fulfill duties.
- Constantly uses verbal and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as E-Mail, telephone and radio.
- Constantly employs eye, hand and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery such as computer keyboard.
- Constantly utilizes full scope of visual capacity to travel to project sites and observe/verify project progress in addition to operating automated office equipment.
