About the Team
The IT Analyst II-Production Systems is responsible for the Manufacturing Systems on the production floor at ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Steering Plant located in Lafayette, Indiana. This position will work closely with the Plant Management, US/Canada Service Manager and the IT Business Relations Manager (BRM) to determine projects and priorities.
What you can look forward to as IT Analyst
- Provide primary and/or 2nd level support to computer systems integrated into the production lines 24x7.
- Assist with the implementation and support of a central plant database to store process data to customer and ZF retention policies.
- Assist local plant departments with process data requests (SQL Queries).
- Work on smaller local projects and as part of a team with other ZF or outside contract and consulting resources to implement new features or integrate data collection or traceability on local manufacturing lines.
- Coordinate with the Controls Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and other departments on issues, upgrades and changes on the manufacturing lines.
- Work with the Global IT team to implement standard systems as appropriate to support the plant.
- Responsible for management and coordination of disaster recovery testing on an annual basis.
- Responsible for project planning with vendor and ZF businesses.
- Ensure backups of production floor computer systems and data.
- Additionally, provide support on a secondary basis for other basic service support activities at the plant (e.g., some server administration, desktop support, etc.).
Your profile as IT Analyst
- Associate degree in Information Technology or related technical field.
- At least 3 years of related IT experience in a plant environment.
- Proven track record in managing multiple projects in a plant environment and effectively setting and meeting deadlines, standards and targets.
- Knowledgeable of the systems and business processes around Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) / Plant Floor Systems (PFS) / Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Knowledgeable of VB.Net programming language.
- Knowledgeable of Oracle or other database technologies (MSSQL, MySQL, etc.).
- Understanding of Barcode Technologies (Label Printers and Scanners).
- A good understanding of basic infrastructure principles:
- Networking concepts, including switches, firewall & TCP/IP
- Windows and Linux Server systems
- General IS security (Virus / Patch)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in-person to a wide range of people (e.g., presentations, meetings, etc.).
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-functional and multi-cultural team.
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting/competing issues.
- Ability to work without close supervision as part of a virtual global organization.
