Create & Design: Processes, Workflows, Infrastructure,

Monitor: Highly secure technologies. Workflow, identify security threats and
Vulnerabilities, infrastructure, Focus area projects
Lead/Team Role: Lead IT area workgroups. Participate
on technology related teams to advance technology. Chair technology related committees involving IT & functional staff.
Examples of Work Performed
Work in a collaborative environment with a team of IT professionals, contributing your experience and expertise to accomplish the strategic IT goals of Wayne State College. Use modern tools to develop custom functionality for the WSC website, service center software, student information system portal, and other web based systems. Serve as the portal administrator for the student information system and manage the student, faculty, and staff dashboards within that system.
  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, content creators, IT professionals, and faculty, to develop and maintain high-quality web solutions that meet the institution's standards and objectives.
  2. Design, develop, and implement user-friendly, responsive, and accessible web experiences within a variety of web based systems, including the campus website, student information system (PeopleSoft), M365 environment, ServiceNow, and others.
  3. Utilize modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, etc.) and content management systems to build interactive and visually appealing web solutions.
  4. Develop and maintain documentation for code, processes, and procedures, facilitating knowledge sharing and ensuring the continuity of web development efforts.
  5. Provide training and support to content editors and other staff members on using the CMS and other web-related tools effectively.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to websites, applications, and integrations to maintain smooth functionality and user satisfaction.
  7. Interact with IT management regarding work assignments.
  8. Write, test, debug, document, deploy, and maintain detailed programs and processes.
  9. Other duties as assigned that are pertinent to the goals and mission of the department and the college.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in related field or relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Information Systems.
  • Proficiency in front and back-end web development technologies including HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, MySQL, Symfony, Composer, etc.
  • Proficiency in SQL and an understanding of querying for data in relational databases.
  • Experience with content management systems and the ability to customize and extend their functionalities.
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development.
  • Experience with AWS, hosting environments and setups.

Salary Information
Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive and comprehensive fringe benefit package. Annual salary range is $63,386-$79,233.
