As an IT Administrator, you will provide technical assistance to Daxko team members as well as support Daxko's Site Reliability Engineers with daily operational task(s), help install, upgrade, and troubleshoot computer and A/V hardware and software. To succeed in this role, you should have a problem-solving attitude, the ability to give clear technical instructions along with a strong willingness to learn how to explain high-level technical solutions to other internal Daxko team members. You should also be familiar with remote troubleshooting techniques.
NOTE: this is a hybrid role that will require the ability to work from our Birmingham, AL office at least 3 days per week.
You will also:
- Address user tickets regarding hardware, software, and networking issues
- Walk internal customers through installing applications, computer peripherals, and connecting to production-related environments
- Ask targeted questions to diagnose problems
- Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions
- Conduct remote troubleshooting
- Test alternative pathways until issues are resolved
- Customize desktop applications to meet user needs
- Develop and keep up to date internal documentation around responsible task(s)
- Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
- Follow up with internal clients to ensure their systems and tools are functional
- Identify gaps in processes and communication and develop/assist with streamlining these processes
Required Skills/Abilities:
- One or more (1+) years' experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments or System Administration work experience
- Novice Experience in code hosting platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, and BitBucket
- Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals (printers and scanners).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential company information.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to work with cloud-based and Daxko-developed solutions utilized in our environments
- Ability and desire to grow product knowledge and technical skills at Daxko
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
Bonus points for:
- Associate degree with related coursework
- A+ and/or Network+ certification(s)
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
