Overview

The IS Project Manager will primarily be responsible for managing medium to large-scale projects involving all types of Information Technology (IT) solutions. The Project Manager will perform project management for new system implementations, large-scale upgrades of existing systems, special focus projects requiring multiple resources and expertise from across the enterprise and any other IT-related projects which require a high-level of management and organization to be successful.

 

This is a full time, first shift, benefits eligible position. The position is hybrid, with occasional in office work when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Leads multiple medium to large scale projects and project teams simultaneously.
  • Applies strong knowledge of implementing software systems, such as a LIMS, that support the laboratory environment by improving efficiency.
  • Leads project teams to ensure scope, timelines, deliverables, budgets and quality are meeting and exceeding expectations.
  • Leads project teams through all phases of life cycle development on complex large-scale projects.
  • Creates and maintains project documentation as appropriate for every project assigned.
  • Appropriately sets and manages customer and team expectations.
  • Effectively utilizes appropriate tools to communicate project information to various audiences.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Completion of a structured project management training program required. PMP certification desired.
  • Bachelor's degree required, or commensurate relevant experience.
  • 3-7 years' experience information systems management, project management, and systems implementations.
  • Strong skills in the use of PC desktop applications such as Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and SharePoint.
  • Proven experience in IT project management and systems implementations.
  • Completed medium sized projects/programs using Waterfall methodology.
  • Working experience using Agile methodology.
  • Thorough understanding of project and program management techniques and methods for multiple co-occurring projects.

Desirable skills:

  • Previous healthcare experience.
  • Knowledge of laboratory technology and systems integration.
  • Experience with sample driven laboratory workflows.
  • Experience with LIMS systems.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Note frequency as Constantly (67-100%), Frequently (34-66%) and Occasionally (0-33%) for each requirement.  Also note any lifting requirements with pound limit.
