Irrigation Service Technician
The Irrigation Service Technician must be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of irrigation systems to include: wiring controllers and valves, pressure testing, trenching, installing heads, rotors, valves, main and lateral lines, drip lines, bubblers, etc.; operating equipment, ordering correct materials; and interfacing with customers, subcontractors, architects, etc. Require minimal supervision and conduct all jobs in a safe manner and, if necessary, directing a crew of one other employee. The Irrigation Service Technician must also attend to and complete all paperwork and administrative requirements related to the job while creating and maintaining a professional job atmosphere.
Irrigation Service Technician Requirements:
- Has a minimum of two years of experience in irrigation service.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable by company’s insurance policy.
- Have a clean criminal record.
- Legal documentation to verify employment eligibility.
- Physically able to handle the workload of a Maintenance Foreman and/or Laborer.
- Have full range of mobility of upper and lower body.
- Able to life 50 pounds without assistance.
- Able to input timesheets on a computer or phone app.
- Able to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner.
Irrigation Service Technician Responsibilities:
- Work in various weather conditions for 10 hours per day Monday through Thursday.
- Able to operate company truck and all irrigation equipment safely and effectively.
- Able to perform all daily preventative maintenance (PM) on company equipment.
- Able to order materials.
- Able to read irrigation plans and drawings.
- Able to lay out the job site and order materials.
- Able to operate irrigation GPS locator system for controllers, valves, heads, rotors, etc.
- Has the leadership capability and demeanor to effectively manage and direct a crew of one or two people.
- Meets or exceeds company production standards for irrigation service work.
- Ensures all change orders or part usage is processed correctly.
- Ensures that jobs are kept on schedule and on budget.
- Ensures that all safety procedures are followed and reports any unsafe conditions to supervisors.
- Ensures all accidents are properly documented and reported immediately.
- Maintains a clean crew truck at all times.
- Able to train an irrigation service helper and maintain a high level of moral.
- Able to work with minimal supervision from Maintenance Manager, but knows when to ask for assistance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
