Hiring Range: $16.50 per hour
We offer flexible work schedules, ranging from 20-40 hours per week, the opportunity to earn paid vacation time and overtime in the first few months of employment, and we work with school schedules. Most opportunities provide for a six-month season, and, in some instances, up to 9 months.
Irrigation system audits and maintenance is the lifeblood of a parks department. As a part of our team, you will support our irrigation technicians in the audits, renovation, maintenance, and repair of our systems. Learn programming of systems; filter, pump, distribution system maintenance and repair; irrigation audits; and water conservation methods. We also complete renovation and new installation of irrigation systems and landscapes.
About Grand Junction Parks and Recreation Department:
We manage 36 developed parks, 900+ acres of open space, 21 miles of trails, hundreds of acres of landscape beds, and we are growing! What We're Looking For:
Must be 18 years or older.
Ability to maintain a great work ethic while working outside all day.- Ambition and a desire to learn.
- Passion for outdoor recreation.
- Effective communication and active listening skills.
- Proclivity for processes and procedures.
- Experience with yard maintenance tools and equipment is great, but we will train.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be able to work early mornings.
