CORA is in search of a Intensive Prevention Services (IPS) Counselor Assistantto work with our clients and families receiving services.
Intensive Prevention Services (IPS) is a program rooted in strong clinically minded care and
social justice. Many of our client referrals come through a police diversion program which gives
youth ages 10-19 the opportunity to participate in counseling rather than be arrested for minor
offenses such as theft, possession, or minor assault.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide counseling services to adolescents, children and their family members in home and Agency locations, group counseling and life-skills education in a specialty after-school program.
- In collaboration with team members, provide case management services in the clients' homes/schools and collaborate with DHS/Family Court in service planning, delivery, reporting and monitoring.
- Complete daily notes, service plans, and discharge summaries, as necessary.
- Complete a thorough psychological assessment for client and family.
- Advocate for client needs in school and court settings.
- Participate in individual and group supervision at agency.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of CORA Services, which includes valuing all individuals, supporting the individual's potential for growth, and enhancing a programmatic service system approach.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Program Administrator.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants should have obtained a Bachelor's Level Degree in a social service related field.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Enthusiasm for work with adolescents and strong relationship-building skills.
- Documented experience in treatment or intervention counseling services.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes three to four evenings/week to accommodate after-school group schedules and family schedules.
- Valid Driver's License
