Our growing Intellectual Property (IP) team at Procopio is seeking a passionate and proactive Senior IP Assistant or Trademark Paralegal to join their dynamic group. The Senior IP Assistant/Paralegal will work closely with staff, attorneys, and clients, and will have a variety of responsibilities including:
- Preparing and filing US and Madrid trademark applications, and handling prosecution through registration and post registration, including renewals.
- Managing foreign counsel on national trademark applications regarding the filing of direct foreign applications.
- Corresponding with clients to report USPTO and foreign trademark office communications.
- Managing an active trademark prosecution docket and corresponding with supervising attorneys and docketing regarding upcoming deadlines.
- Handling Trademark Trial and Appeal Board matters from filing through completion.
- Coordinating trademark enforcement and customs recordals with foreign associates and in the US.
- Preparing and filing copyright registrations.
- Managing domain name disputes.
This individual will also track and enter time spent on billable projects, and handle other billable and non-billable related tasks and duties as requested, including providing coverage for teammate absences.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of law firm experience with an emphasis in trademark prosecution. They have strong skills in MS Office, especially Excel, proficiency in information acquisition, including the use of online information databases, tools and resources. Proficiency in USPTO systems (TEAS, EPAS, ETAS, TESS, TSDR, TTAB, and MyUSPTO) is also needed.
We offer significant bonus opportunities for Paralegals and IP Assistants of all levels of experience. Typical salary ranges from $75,000 – $120,000 annual depending on experience. This position is located in one of our California or Arizona offices or Remotely if the candidate resides in AZ, CA, NV, OR, UT, or WA.
