This Investor Relations Manager role is responsible in assisting the department head in managing the development and execution of CRC's Investor Relations strategy by providing market/sector/industry research, strategic perspectives, presentations, and investor targeting projects, financial data and peer analyses, analysis of financial statements and development of financial models as well as other adhoc projects. Strong interdivisional and executive relationship management, strong work ethic and confidentiality is a must. 

This position can be in either our Long Beach, CA or Bakersfield, CA offices and is eligible for a 9/80 and hybrid work-from-home schedule.

 

The base annual salary for this posted position is reasonably expected to range from $141K to $171K, with a target annual bonus target of 20% of base salary and eligibility to participate in our long-term incentive program. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including education, experience level and relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

        Coordinate with associated departments to lead and support the development of presentations to investors, research analysts, rating agencies, and other external and internal stakeholders.

        Develop and maintain key messages for all investor communications/internal stakeholders including remarks and talking points for annual meetings, quarterly conference calls, press releases, filings, Q&A's, infographics, industry conferences, one-on-one visits, IR content on website, etc.

        Work closely and in tandem with the accounting, finance, operations, treasury, and corporate development teams to analyze the financial results, provide market situation opinions and compile important industry trends, statistics, and other relevant information for use during the quarterly earnings announcement and conference call, and throughout the year during regular discussions with investors.

        Assist the department head in preparing management for financial community presentations and questions, quarterly calls, investor conferences and non-deal roadshows (NDRs). Support management and department head through investor meetings, events, and presentations, as appropriate. Manage the IR calendar including quarterly calls, participation in investor conferences.

        At the direction of the department head, aid the corporate response to shareholder communications in a timely and accurate manner. Assist department head in broadening relationships with the sell-side and buy-side, and compile and maintain relevant conversation data bases.

        Monitor and manage sell side analyst's valuation models, combines street consensus estimates, peer reviews and identify items that require management's attention. Supports the department in fostering of new relations with sell-side analysts to initiate coverage of CRC.

        Assist and manage the coordination of analyst / investor meetings, conferences, and materials distribution.

        Aids shareholder targeting exercises and maintain and manage internal databases and research with respect to shareholders, prospective investors and buy side / sell side analysts.

        Work closely with the management by providing specific and targeted market insights, development of materials, investment views, strategic opinions, presentations, briefing books and ad hoc requests for banking conferences, road shows and specific investor events/situations.

        Support management with effective communication vehicles, tools, and ad-hoc research, infographics, disclosures, and market research to assure timely, thorough, and accurate information to investors and CRC's executive team. Aggregates, synthesizes, and articulate these findings in a fluent, cohesive, and well directed way (written/verbally).

        Maintain and manage CRC Investor Relations website through direct communication with suppliers, vendors and internal stakeholders.

            Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related degree. Advanced degree or certification such as MBA, CFA, CPA or proven knowledge of US GAAP desirable. Strong understanding of capital market dynamics, investment circles and shareholder engagement.

            Strong financial background and/or Energy industry experience preferred

            California based

            Demonstrated financial modeling and analytical skills with a thorough understanding of valuation techniques used by security analysts.

            Possesses a strong understanding of financial statements.

            Good knowledge of energy sector and CRC.

            Highly organized and thoughtful with exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.

            Excellent verbal and written communication skills to create executive level materials with high attention to detail.

            Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); knowledge of FactSet/Bloomberg is desired.

            Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships. A natural communicator. Strong oral and written communication skills, in addition to strong presentation skills.

            Proactive, curious, and positive. Able to learn and adapt quickly in fast paced environment.

            Dependable, responsible, and attentive team player.

            Proven ability to work under pressure, handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.

            Passion for investments, economics, energy sector and energy transition on the global scene and in California.

            A self-starter who can work autonomously, while also being an energetic, efficient, and resourceful team player.
