POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with client service experience to be an integral member of a team that supports fast-paced financial advisors in the Tampa, FL area. The ideal candidate will have an active interest in the financial services industry and desire for professional growth and should be comfortable interacting directly with financial advisors.
This role is critical to the success of financial advisors and requires a high degree of organizational capability, strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
The Investment Operations Associate will be a member of our Planning Department that provides centralized services to multiple financial advisors in our firm. They will work at the direction of advisors to help them bring new investment accounts into the firm.
Responsibilities include:
- Create investment proposals for brokerage accounts and advisory programs
- Prepare Morningstar reports for existing as well as proposed portfolios.
- Prepare documentation to open investment accounts
- Assist with the transfer of funds into new and existing accounts and trade the accounts according to the relevant proposal.
- Troubleshoot money movement issues.
- Assist in account rebalancing as necessary.
- Promote, utilize, and reinforce planning culture aligned to Northwestern Mutual’s planning philosophy and best practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in business, finance, or another related field
- Series 7 and Series 63 or Series 66
- Florida Life & Health License (2-15) or ability to obtain within 45 days
- 2+ years financial operations experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications – Outlook, Word, Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior Financial Advisor support experience
- Experience with Morningstar, NetX360 and/or CRM client management software a plus
