Investment Management Agreements Specialist

Are you ready to build your career by joining a global financial institution? If so, our client is hiring a Investment Management Agreements Specialist.
What You'll Do:

• Primary focus on trading and derivative documentation as well as the negotiation of Investment Management Agreements (IMAs) for the segregated account client base.
• Responsible for project managing the workload and maintaining/ developing relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. Client Relationship Management and Take-on teams, Legal & Compliance, Portfolio Management teams).
• Will also support other geographical regions (including Asia-Pacific and EMEA) as required.

What You Bring:

• Motivated, self-starting professional willing to dive straight into a busy workload.
• Drafting and negotiation aspects of the role.
• Need to be a qualified lawyer.
• Commercially minded, whilst being risk aware.
• Sound understanding of the asset management industry and knowledge of the client base of an institutional asset manager;
• Knowledge of trading and derivative documentations as well as Investment Management Agreements and ancillary agreements and understanding of financial services regulation, including understanding of current regulatory framework relating to asset management and derivative
• Working knowledge of funds in general and of other commercial contracts with clients, distributors, intermediaries, or other agents within the asset management sector.
• At least 5 years PQE in a major law firm and/or in-house at a sell-side or buy-side financial institution.
• Required Skills:
  • Isda Master Agreement Drafting & Negotiation experience.
  • Professional maturity, confidence, presence, and initiative.
  • Good judgment and practical outlook; commercially minded.
  • Drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills; able to distil complicated concepts and legal jargon into plain English.
  • Aptitude for risk and controls.
  • Strong ability to influence outcomes and stakeholders.
• Preferred:
  • Investment Management Agreement and Separately Managed Account experience a plus.
  • Buy side experience preferred.
