Job description

The Ohio Lottery Commission supports teleworking as a work model for employees. Telework can improve an employee's work/life balance and increase employee productivity. This position is eligible for hybrid work pursuant to the Ohio Lottery Commission's Teleworking Policy, which incorporates both telework and in-office work days. If approved, the successful candidate will be required to comply with the requirements established in the Ohio Lottery Commission's telework agreement and policy. The Ohio Lottery Commission has offices located around the State of Ohio in various cities, the successful candidate would have access to shared workspace at one of these offices for workplace reporting requirements.

What You'll Do:
Responsibilities of the Investigation Supervisor 2 include but are not limited to:

  • Plans, coordinates and directs all investigative operations for the Ohio Lottery Commission's Office of Investigations & Security.
  • Supervises and leads Investigation Supervisor 1's located in various facilities around the State.
  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, investigative strategies and plans.
  • Oversees the allocation and prioritization of investigative cases within the team.
  • Monitors case progress and ensures timely and thorough investigations.
  • Conducts risk assessments for ongoing investigations and recommends appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Reviews specific cases for final disposition.
  • Prepares long range plans to include budget, equipment and personnel needs, manages and optimizes available resources to support investigations effectively.
  • Collaborates with other Ohio Lottery offices and/or other agencies to coordinate investigative or prosecution activities.
  • Maintains effective communication with external stakeholders.
  • Travels to racinos and regional offices statewide to observe investigative operations and meet with staff.
  • Promotes a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Provides training, mentorship and professional development opportunities for staff to enhance skills.
  • Ensures proper customer service is provided by the team.
  • Establishes and upholds investigative standards for the Office of Investigations & Security and makes improvements.
  • Ensures comprehensive investigations are completed by team members.
  • Ensures accurate and thorough documentation of investigation findings in all investigations.
  • Maintains confidentiality and integrity standards.
  • Implements quality control measures to maintain the highest standards of investigation.
  • Ensures the highest level of data security and confidentiality in all investigative activities.
  • Identifies areas for process improvement for investigations and implements operational enhancements to streamline investigation processes.
  • Handles special problems and/or highly sensitive investigations.
  • Acts as an Office of Investigations & Security point of contact and decision-maker in emergency situations ensuring swift and effective response.
  • Performs other duties and works on special projects.

Qualifications
4 years training or 4 years experience as investigator where experience does not correspond with cases/complaints/allegations to be assigned; 12 months training or 12 months in supervisory principles/techniques; valid driver's license.
-Or 12 months experience as Investigation Supervisor 1, 26216 with experience corresponding to type of complaints & alleged violations appearing in job posting/approved position description; valid driver's license.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
