Job Statement
The purpose of the Inventory Control Specialist is to maintain well stocked and accurate inventory and assist purchasing functions for agency as needed.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Maintains consistent stock of inventory, ordering new stock up to pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles.
- Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
- Provides inventory reports to Procurement Manager.
- Assists Procurement Manager in acquiring bids.
- Develops and maintains good working relationships with vendors.
- Maintains accurate daily records of inventory received and checked out.
- Manages and maintains inventory system.
- Enters requisitions and purchase orders for approval.
- Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
- Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
- Keep current M.S.D.S. documentation for all pertinent chemicals being used and stored.
- Performs other related duties as requested
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school education or equivalent, associate degree preferred.
- Valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance.
- Experience with computerized inventory systems required
- Computer experience - demonstrated typing skills, accurate data entry, Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Some knowledge of purchasing procedures preferable.
- Basic understanding of Inventory Control procedures.
- Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Requires heavy lifting (50 pounds), bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, balancing, and carrying.
- Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.35 - $24.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
