Position Summary:
The primary responsibilities of this position will be to assist the management team in the proper handling of freight (shipping and receiving). Safely transport orders and inventory to their proper locations. Efficient and accurate processing of all orders and paperwork delivered to the shipping office. This is a second shift position; hours can be found below.
*Candidate will be subject to an introductory period where he/she will perform other duties until in house safety certification is completed on an as needed basis*
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist shipping department with goods received. (unloading trailers/shipping containers).
- Safe transport of inventory and finished goods to their proper location.
- Assist order processing teams with inventory needs.
- Assist production department with delivery of inventory and transport of completed orders.
- Audits received goods and completed orders for accuracy, quality, and adherence to special instructions.
- Preparing and loading shipments onto trailers.
- Provides support to all warehouse departments as needed.
- Demonstrate safe and responsible operation of forklift according to OSHA and company standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education, Certifications and Licensures:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2 years forklift operator experience.
- Two years of wholesale distribution and warehousing preferred but not required.
- Sage100 and/or ScanForce software experience preferred but not required.
- Prior forklift operator certification preferred but not required.
- Skilled operator of a propane and/or electric sit-down forklift (stand up lift - order picker optional)
- Demonstrates the ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and solve problems with speed and accuracy.
- Shows the ability to work well under pressure.
- Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literate.
