Our Company operates a crust facility in Chicago Heights and toppings facilities in Romeoville and Boston MA. Every role is vital to the growth of our organization.
Key AccountabilitiesThe Inventory Analyst is responsible for maintaining inventory records and controls by collaborating with the Production, Quality, Finance and Logistics departments to ensure there are timely movements and accurate inventories each day. This role is highly visible, and this individual will have direct interaction with management. The Inventory Analyst must be detail oriented, understand process flow and be a proponent of change.
Responsibilities- Work Order material management, consumption & validation.
- Collaboration with Production managers to compile previous days inventory usages and applying to Production Orders in D365
- Daily reconciliation of the company’s on-hand inventory listing from its ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics D365 – “D365”) to the company’s owned locations and third-party warehouse operators warehouse management system (WMS)
- Investigate variances – for variances that are not timing related, collaborate with Great Kitchens users and third-party warehouse partners to reconcile and understand the root cause.
- Validate transfer receipts and shipments in D365 for all inventory movements.
- Validate the receipt is aligned with the transfer order quantity and lot codes, research and resolve variances.
- Review warehouse transfers and compare the third-party warehouse receipt detail (item, quantity, etc.) to the receipt data in D365.
- Research and resolve variances.
- Support the month-end close process / annual audit through account analysis, inventory reporting and ad hoc requests.
- Work closely with Production, Logistics, and Finance teams to research any materials that were not physically and systematically brought to the lines timely for the daily production runs.
- Compile and distribute aging reports to Management team for all GK facilities and 3rd party warehouse inventories.
- Lead Weekly OSMI Meetings
- Research and follow up on status of expired and on hold materials.
- Follow up and put controls in place to ensure the Operations teams is following FEFO to ensure production is consuming all materials reaching the expiration date.
- Manage disposals and ensure proper documentation and approvals are obtained before writing off materials.
- Nightly report for materials expired/close to expiration to be shared with the warehouse staging team.
- Finished Goods past shippable date for Sales team.
- Lead inventory controls process including cycle counts and full physical counts from system and physical manufacturing and warehouse floor perspectives.
- Work in the warehouse managing & performing cycle counts and working through inventory discrepancies.
- Reconcile inventory valuation balance report vs. inventory GL balance during period end close and investigate variances.
- Recommend journal entries correction and provide supporting documentation for approval.
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting recommended.
- Ability to problem solve, set priorities, and work collaboratively toward issue resolution.
- Highly detail-oriented thinking and proven accuracy
- Inventory management experience.
- Ability to lead in person inventory controls and count activity in warehouses and on manufacturing floors.
- Reliable, solid understanding of industry standards, including basic accounting principles.
- Significant, first-hand experience operating spreadsheets and accounting software, preferably D365
- Understanding of Electronic Data Interchange (“EDI”) as it pertains to inventory movements.
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Must be able to communicate effectively across functions and build trust.
- Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal
Food Safety/Quality
- Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision and/or quality assurance.
- Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate attention.
