The MBI internship program offers student interns an opportunity to:
- Apply academic knowledge under supervised hands-on field conditions.
- Become better prepared to successfully enter the workforce.
- Survey and understand the work environment, its demands, and opportunities.
Internship team: the field Supervisor and Personnel Development:
- Agree on both realistic learning objectives and the means to achieve them.
- Realize that intern objectives must be attainable within the work hours requested and with the academic period.
- Provide feedback to intern on progress.
Expectations of the position. Interns are responsible for:
- Applying for and obtaining internship program approval.
- Initiating contact with the field Supervisor and Personnel Development.
- Communicating with supervisors regarding internship agreement terms, work schedules, job descriptions, that support attainment of stated learning goals and objectives (apply academic subjects in the working environment) and where appropriate, student compensation.
- Assuring, where employment already exists, internship objectives will expand current work assignments to higher levels of performance and understanding.
- Completing internship agreement terms.
What we offer. Responsibilities of the field supervisor and Personnel Development:
- Assign duties/responsibilities that offer interns an opportunity to expand their current academic understanding and provide a challenging work experience.
- Evaluate intern’s job performance as it relates to achieving internship goals and objectives.
- Provide constructive feedback to the higher education institution on the intern’s development for the workforce
- Provide exit interview for interns returning to their school/college
