Armin & Judy are seasoned NYC restauranteurs ensconced in prime Bridgehampton, seeking an enlightened intern to work hands on with our "teaching" Exec Chef in a restaurant "that wants to feel like home", with an acclaimed on-premise bakery, retail Boulangerie & grocer and esoteric wine cellar. Our breads, patisserie and under the radar restaurant menus supersede all other east end venues.
This is unique opportunity to rotate and work hands on with the Executive Chef, Head Baker and Head Bakery Chef in an atypical Hamptons environment year-round with growth opportunities. Candidate must be dedicated, passionate, disciplined and able to recieve direction/ learn to delegate and champion simplicity of ingredients and contribute as a team member in a picture-perfect kitchen environment.
- Requirements
As a culinary in residence, our kitchen members provide comraderie, leadership and oversight in the kitchen, ensuring that we provide perfectly prepared dishes that consistently meet our high quality standards. They do this through careful planning and preparation commitments.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Visually inspect the Kitchen and takes action to ensure the work areas are clean and organized and all equipment is in working order.
- Oversees the setting up of the Kitchen stations.
- Regularly monitors product quality and plate presentation to ensure consistency of service standards.
- Ensure food items are prepared to guest specifications, by interacting with food servers and assists in resolving the issue if a problem of dissatisfaction arises with the quality of the food items requested.
- Follows all safety, hygiene and cleanliness protocols at all times
- Assists in conducting performance evaluations and coaches and counsels Kitchen associates when necessary
- Assists associates and may occasionally perform in the capacity of any of the positions supervised
- All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

- Qualifications
To perform this internship successfully, candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with guidance and support. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must have (and or aspire to have) extensive knowledge of food preparation and presentation service standards.
- Ability to equate units of measure as required by recipes.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- The ability to effectively deal with associates some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy and resolve conflicts.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as recipes, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Meets legal age requirements for the position.
- Educatin and/or Experience
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. High school diploma is preferred. Formal culinary training or degree in Culinary Arts or Hotel Restaurant Management preferred. One-year prior culinary supervisory experience is preferred.

ServSafe and CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred.
