Waldorf University is seeking anInternational Student Coordinator with a collateral role in the Office of Student Life. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Life and a member of the Student Affairs team, this position will work with all aspects of the International Student experience from the days following admission to graduation. In addition, they will serve through the Office of Student Life in a collateral role as best suited for needs of the department and skill set of the candidate. Ideal candidates will take an imaginative approach to create experiences, able to work independently but flexible as a part of a team, have a great sense of humor, and have a passion for service, International Student experience, and student development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Able to be SEVIS certified: Must be a US Citizen
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record, must be willing to assist with student transportation as needed
- Ideally 2 or more years of experience working with International Students and the International Student document processes
- Flexibility with schedule to accommodate programming and meeting the needs of the students. Position will include some evening and weekend commitments.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Serve as the PDSO for the University assuming responsibility for SEVIS record keeping, ensuring, and working with university policy and staff on compliance and regulations. Oversee DSO’s and provide training as needed
- Assist students with employment process for on and off campus work authorization
- Consult with and advise when needed admissions regarding the process and criteria for current trends or compliance of International Student intake.Work with marketing on communication strategies
Student Life Responsibilities
- Provide programming opportunities and advise World Student Association (WSA) organization on campus attending meetings and events.
- Assist with general student support and advising throughout out their experience. Helping to integrate with American students and culture, resourcing them to campus services, host families and creating and maintaining resource materials
- Collaborate with other student services and community to meet the needs of International Students through promotion and dialog
- With student life and orientation team, contribute and coordinate new student international orientation and welcome to campus
- Instruct a section of the first-year seminar section for International Students
- Attend Student Life Staff meetings, occasional Admissions meetings, and work collaboratively with Student Life on programming, orientation, arrivals, and check-ins
- Additional collateral role assignment as defined within student life department
