Overview

Position Summary: The International Strategy Inventory Planner is dedicated to the management of Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Cooperation's (YMMC) international supply base. Responsibilities for this position include the ordering of parts needed to support YMMC's production, following up on past due orders, and working closely with suppliers to ensure accuracy. These orders must be monitored for on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor red, green, yellow Purchase to Available (PTA) part settings, ordering to statistically based inventory levels
  • Monitor order status and past due order follow up
  • Update supplier PO progress report
  • Negative inventory reporting and corrections
  • Monitoring of internal shortage reports
  • Resolve issues related to supplier part quality
  • Identify critical part issues and formulate supplier delivery recovery plans to support zero Line Downtime Goal
  • Coordinate the timing/interaction of engineering change parts into production
  • Minimize parts obsolescence and costs
  • Identify supplier opportunity for improvements and lead meetings
  • Support monthly reports and assigned projects Education
  • Experience with international logistics translates well into this position and Experience with SAP is required.
  • Inventory control knowledge is required.

 

Qualifications

Education / Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required. Some college education preferred. 3+ years in a production office environment - purchasing or production control experience preferred. General computer skills, Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point Other Required Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects / tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in a team environment. Demonstrated verbal, written, analytical and problem-solving skills Familiarity with MRP Systems.

Other Required Skills:

  • Inventory Management experience preferred.
  • Experience in working/communicating with international suppliers is a plus.
  • Knowledge of US customs & FTZ regulations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of PYMAC and SAP is a plus.
  • Must be able to work variable hours to accommodate occasional online meetings with overseas suppliers - this generally is in the evening hours.
