Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic-minded individual to join our centralized team as an Inventory Optimization Specialist. As an Inventory Optimization Specialist, you will be responsible for utilizing and maintaining inventory optimization software to set inventory levels across our supply chain. Your primary goal will be to minimize costs while ensuring optimal inventory levels that meet customer demands and support the company's strategic objectives. This is a critical role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

  • Utilize inventory optimization software tools to analyze and forecast demand patterns, lead times, and other relevant factors to determine optimal inventory levels.
  • Run Simulations and scenarios to evaluate different options and opportunities in our supply network.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Supply Planning, Sales, and Finance to understand business requirements and develop new inventory strategies that align with the company's goals.
  • Conduct data analysis and identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for inventory holding strategy improvements within the supply chain.
  • Establish priorities and course of action for managing multiple tasks in time critical situations under pressure.
  • Monitor inventory levels on an ongoing basis, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with FP&A to drive the budgeting process and understand and explain drivers of variance to forecasted costs and inventory to leadership

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations/Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience in SAP ECC, IBP IO, APO/SCM, BW preferred
  • APICS certification (CPIM/CSCP) a plus.
  • Proven experience 4+ years as an Inventory Analyst, Inventory Planner, or similar role, preferably in a large-scale supply chain environment.
  • Solid understanding of statistical forecasting methods, supply planning, and inventory management principles.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights and actionable strategies.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work with large datasets and financial modeling.
  • Strong proficiency in inventory optimization software tools (e.g., SAP IBP IO, IQR, Oracle, Kinaxis, or similar) and advanced MS Excel skills.
