Summary / Objective:
The International Logistics Manager directs and oversees logistics operations. Works to ensure timely delivery of products or materials, and directs and manages transportation scheduling, distribution, delivery, and other aspects of logistics operations. The International Logistics Manager takes responsibility for ensuring goods get where they need to be in an efficient manner. To this end, much of their job involves keeping track of timetables and costs. Responsible for both international and domestic allocation, delivery, and final disposal of product from a logistic standpoint.
Essential Functions:

- Works with purchasing department to schedule delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Audits and approves freight bills. Manages negotiations with 3rdparty logistics providers for carrier rates.
- Publish weekly in-transit corporate wide reports.
- Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance with HTS codes, duties and tariffs and serves as subject matter expert.
- Identifies problems and inefficiencies in logistics processes; presents and implements enhancements and solutions to address these issues.
- Gathers needed information on and understanding of customer demands; meets specific needs for transloading, just-in-time shipping, inventory management, distribution, and fulfillment.
- Maintains positive rapport with suppliers to effectively resolve systemic shipment or delivery issues.
- Communicates by telephone and e-mail with suppliers as well as OTR team members throughout the organization.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position will oversee personnel employed in the Logistics department and will serve as a coach/mentor for facility managers and their staff across all regions.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. At times, employees might be exposed to manufacturing environment, including forklift traffic, fumes, noise, and operating manufacturing equipment.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM. In order to meet our customer demands and internal objectives, at times this role will require us to work outside of the normal schedule, including weekends.
Travel:
There will be extensive local and international travel as it relates to supplier development activities or support of assigned plants/locations.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in an organization with international facilities, suppliers and customers.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assimilate data into useful reports.
- Proven ability to design and execute a supply chain strategy.
- Technical and applied understanding of logistics software and warehouse management systems
- Strong knowledge of HTS codes, tariffs, and duties specific to our products, knowledge of CTPAP requirements and application to our facilities and suppliers.
- Experience in working with freight forwarders and customs brokers for importing and exporting.
- Knowledge of working with 3rdparty logistics providers and directly with carriers for domestic truckload and LTL freight
- Excellent communications skills required, with the ability to articulate solutions to complex issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; capable of learning and utilizing ERP systems to access data.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience working in a fast pace, high-growth company.
- Project Management experience.
- Manufacturing or Distribution experience.
- Strong Microsoft Office knowledge and application.
