Job Details:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent VP, Controller for our Engineering division. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our financial management department, overseeing all activities related to accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting. This position will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with ASC 842 lease accounting standards and delivering timely monthly reporting.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
5. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
6. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
7. Oversee the company's financial systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and fully utilized.
8. Work closely with the executive team to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations.
9. Ensure compliance with ASC 842 lease accounting standards.
10. Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
11. Direct the financial planning and strategy through analysis of data and market trends.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Masters or CPA preferred.
2. Proven experience of 3+ years as a senior financial manager in the engineering industry or similar role.
3. In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
4. Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
5. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., SAP).
6. An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
7. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
8. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
9. Thorough knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting standards.
10. Proven experience with monthly reporting and other financial procedures.
