Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Quality Control Manager to be based out of Phoenix, AZ. Reporting to the site Operations Manager, this person will be responsible for identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, formulating corrective and preventive measures, and working to implement those actions to improve quality levels and customer compliance. This individual will serve as a change agent and represent the Quality function on assigned project teams.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or equivalent along with a minimum of five (5) years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

 What you’ll do:

• Be a leader in the Quality department by being accountable for the site’s quality, safety, delivery, and cost.
• Leads team of quality technicians and work cross-functionally with production management to drive quality improvements.
• Performs and documents customer complaint root cause investigations.
• Performs and documents root cause investigations related to product and component rejections.
• Generates and maintains Quality System documentation and ensures customer compliance.
• Create, manage, and maintain quality specification processes for all projects.
• Presents quality data with analysis to the management team.
• Supports Production personnel by communicating and resolving process and material related quality issues.
• Supports Facility cost reductions and process improvement projects utilizing various Quality tools such as FMEA, process capability, Gage R&R, SPC, pareto analysis and other six sigma/lean tools.
• Performs periodic internal audits of the Quality System to ensure that it is effectively established and maintained in compliance with customer requirements.
• Coordinates with the supervisors to develop and conduct training on quality standards, measurement devices, quality alerts, procedure changes, etc.
• Assists in process improvement efforts by working with supervisors to identify, implement and validate process changes.
• Review and adhere to job specification, requirements and ensure all builds comply accordingly.
• Reviews Certificates of Conformance as needed.
• Writes protocols and performs validations of new/improved build and processes.
• Has the ability to read blueprints and fly 3D Design Model.
• Participates in Lean Manufacturing and as well as facility initiatives.

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or equivalent along with a minimum of five (5) years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, inspection methods, gauging and measuring techniques.
• Excellent communication skills within all levels of the organizations.
• Experience managing teams which support and drive company values and initiatives from a leadership level.
• Working knowledge of quality systems and software.
• Proficiency in Navisworks Manage, Revit, Inventor preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Packages.

Within 3 months, you’ll:

• Complete your Atkore immersion program.
• Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore’s strategy.
• Perform and document root cause investigations related to product and component rejections.

Within 6 months, you’ll:

• Create, manage, and maintain quality specification processes for all projects.
• Support Production personnel by communicating and resolving process and material related quality issues.
• Have the ability to read blueprints and fly 3D Design Model.

Within 12 months, you’ll:

• Support Facility cost reductions and process improvement projects utilizing various Quality tools such as FMEA, process capability, Gage R&R, SPC, pareto analysis and other six sigma/lean tools.
• Perform periodic internal audits of the Quality System to ensure that it is effectively established and maintained in compliance with customer requirements.
