Here is the project you will work on this summer!
Teram Sports Innovation Engineer Internship
Projects:
- Support development of basketballs made in non-traditional ways, such as 3D printing (e.g., the Airless Prototype):
- Prototype your ideas and evaluate feasibility and impact on performance
- Create and execute methods for testing balls outside normal specifications (e.g., instron material testing)
- Participate in play testing and compile feedback
- Sustainability inventory in Team Sports
- Understand Wilson Team Sports projects and Life Cycle Analyses / sustainability reports
- Evaluate current projects and propose future ones
Acceptable degree programs should include:Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Doctorate. Applicants should be majoring in the following: Engineering (Mechanical, Material Sci/Eng, Chemical); Polymer Science; Material Science; Biomedical Science
Qualifications for our candidate will include:
- Highly proficient in Excel and/or Matlab for data analysis
- data management and reporting for different audiences
- Hands-on testing (Instron/MTS/TA)
- basic materials science knowledge (e.g., stress-strain curves, translating test data to meaningful plots, classes of polymers thermoplastic vs thermoset)
- international communication
- Passion for innovation and sustainability
