What Your Job Will Be LikeSecure Software Solutions (Org. 6614) is seeking an Undergraduate R&D Intern to join our Bolt development team.On any given day, you may be called on to:* Work collaboratively in an Agile, task-oriented environment, to develop web-based and native/mobile software applications* Design, prototype, develop, test, deploy, and/or maintain software applications that support a diverse portfolio of Sandia missions* Report on progress and advances to peers, management, and stakeholders and interact effectively in a collaborative environment with designers, researchers, engineers, product managers, and other team members* Modify and/or enhance existing source code* Contribute to deeply rewarding missions through engagement with diverse computer science specialties and specialists in areas such as data analytics, cloud computing, machine learning, cybersecurity, modeling and simulation, service-oriented architectures, data management and visualization, and pattern recognitionQualifications We RequireYou bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:* Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program* Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major* Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0* Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer* U.S. citizenshipQualifications We Desire* Knowledge and experience with implementation of the full software development process from requirements definition through verification and validation to delivery using Agile or Iterative methodologies* Experience with full-stack development languages and libraries, e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Python, PHP, and Java* Experience with database platforms such as SQL/MySQL, MongoDB, etc.* Experience with front-end development frameworks, e.g., React, Angular* Experience implementing backend RESTful APIs and/or similar data access interfaces* Experience with version control systems, e.g., Git(Lab), Subversion* Experience with Docker containers, Virtualization (VMs), and continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) approaches to software development and deployment in cloud-based environments (DevOps and systems engineering)* Ability to develop and present ideas and results in oral and written form* Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE-Q clearance* Critical thinking, synthesis and problem-solving; ability to deal with ambiguity and adapt to a fast-paced, customer-focused operation; teaming; self-startingPosting DurationThis posting will be open for application submissions for a minimum of seven (7) calendar days, including the 'posting date'.
