How you will help us create value together:

As a Product Support Electrical Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for a range of support activities for the Product Support Shovel team. The Product Support Shovel team is the factory liaison to regional distributors and affiliates responsible for reducing machine downtime through technical support solutions. Activities will include providing resolution to technical problems resulting in end customer cost savings, implementation of corrective or upgraded components eliminating potential downtime and warranty costs.

This position will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee's Harbor District! The target start date for this role is Summer 2023 and has potential to be extended into the Fall 2023 school semester. We offer full-time hours during the summer and flexible part-time hours during the academic year.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Document service procedures (written or video footage)
  • Component and software setup, testing, and verification in lab setting
  • Manage Specific Product Issues through the issue resolution process and update the records in SalesForce accordingly
  • Create and add parts book notes for Product issues and add them into both SalesForce PIT and Parts books accordingly
  • Review all existing older Product Issues and ensure critical fields are up to date and this will require collaboration with subject matter experts
  • Assist with writing and proof reading technical service documents in preparation for lobal distribution, which will require collaboration with subject matter experts
  • Service/maintenance interval checklists (high level schedule)
Qualifications/Requirements

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred), Engineering Technology, or similar, from an accredited college or university
  • Junior or Senior level student in good academic standing
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team towards a goal
  • Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, often will be in communication with international company representatives (Spanish a plus)
  • Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous classroom and/or work experience in one or more of the following areas: (Electrical Power Systems, Electronic Drive Systems, PLC's, Mechanical Theory)
  • Interest in or aptitude to learn about careers in the heavy equipment industry
  • Farming related experience is advantageous with problem solving skills
  • Experience in trades skills such as Electrical Wiring, Mechanical Repair, Machine Shop or other hands on work that aids in special awareness and problem solving
  •  Computer Automated Drafting/Design experience a plus, Solid Works is ideal
