What Your Job Will Be Like The Inertial Systems Department is looking for undergraduate student engineers who want exposure to inertial sensor testing and evaluation. They will become familiar with the team's expertise in electronics, mechanical, and software development, data analysis, and test capabilities. On any given day the selected candidate could perform these type of activities: Collaborate with team members in design and test efforts Conduct sensor testing in our Inertial Test Lab using - 3-axis rate tables Centrifuge Vacuum Chambers Thermal Chambers Participate in drive around and other motion measurement testing efforts Participate in sensor analysis Qualifications We Require You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements: Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer U.S.

About Our Team Sandia's Department 5326 - Inertial Systems develops innovative inertial and electronic subsystems for missiles, air-delivered applications, unattended ground sensor networks, and surrogate test articles for exploratory electromagnetic and radiation tests.

The organization specializes in test and evaluation of inertial sensors along with developing electronic subsystems for data acquisition and algorithm processing. Members of the organization have varying skills that include inertial sensor assessment and analysis, electronics, software, and mechanical design, electro/mechanical fabrication capability, and combined-environment test development. Product development involves requirements capture, modeling, detailed design, fabrication, system integration, testing, and data analysis to ensure all requirements are met.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
