The Health Services Research (HSR) Program is a multidisciplinary program that studies access, utilization, value, delivery, organization, financing, and outcomes to generate new knowledge, improve understanding, identify challenges, and offer actionable solutions for patients, caregivers, donors, healthcare providers, and transplant centers to influence research, practice, policy, advocacy, and solution implementation within the transplant and cellular therapy ecosystem.
This position will be responsible for basic to intermediate data linkage, analysis, visualization, and reporting for the HSR team as part of the CIBMTR® (Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research) and within the NMDP.
This position requires knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research, practical use of observational datasets, and problem-solving capabilities. This is a remote position (US). #LI-Remote

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Perform research data linkage, analysis, visualization, and reporting as required to satisfy Health Services Research project needs.
- Collaborate with HSR and other teams to perform data analyses. The intern will work closely with and be supervised by at least one assigned HSR team member who will mentor them during the internship period
- Perform review of the literature to support HSR projects
- Research available open-source dataset/databases to support HSR projects
- Prepare and input data for processing, produce and validate output, summarize, and visualize as needed
- Develop a mini proposal of interest to answer a contemporary question of concern to the transplant and cellular therapy community using existing internal dataset
- Troubleshoot procedures and document processes
- Provide timely and up-to-date status of assigned tasks and identify problem areas early
- Actively participate in weekly supervision sessions and team meetings
- Attend meetings and actively participate in other related activities as directed by supervisor/mentor
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge of:

Education and/or Experience:
- Within 6 months of completing or within a year of having completed a graduate degree in Health Services Research, Health Economics & Outcomes Research, Epidemiology, Health Informatics, Applied Biostatistics, or related areas. Those with a public health, social sciences or related degree will be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration)
- Experience working with big data
- Experience working with Snowflake
- Ability to translate business requirements and research findings into practice
