Our Summer Internship Program puts you in the heart of one of the most strategic companies in the world. You will partner with multiple team members, collaborate with different departments, focus on specific projects, which you will support and even lead. Our guidance and education throughout this journey will help build your confidence, expand your professional experiences and help improve your leadership skills.Our Program runs for approximately 13 weeks from the end of May to mid-August. Internships are paid and available for those seeking remote, hybrid, and onsite opportunities.

In this Role:
You will be a part of a crime fighting team at WEX. This team battles fraudsters that attempt to steal from WEX and our partners. You will partner with Special Investigators to uncover fraud rings, understand how they operate, and then implement strategies to prevent their schemes. You will use data science to create new ways of uncovering and preventing fraud.
You will use WEX’s data platform as the basis for your work. Cloud-based data, Data Science Platforms, Analytics Suites, Machine Learning, and your own ingenuity to create new solutions that allow for new ways to combat fraud.
What you will be doing:
- Use Snowflake, Python, and other data tools to identify fraudsters and bust their schemes to commit crimes.
- Partner with Special Investigators to apply data science techniques to Investigations that expose fraud rings.
- Contribute to WEX’s strategies to prevent financial crimes.
Must have for this role:
- A passion for fighting crime.
- Data skills and curiosity to find patterns in data.
- Experience creating analytics that provide actionable insights.
- Experience with data transformation / data science tools such as Python or R
