ABOUT THE ROLE:
Our internship program gives you an excellent opportunity to gain valuable practical experience to complement your academic pursuits. We can tailor our internship calendar to coincide with your summer break. We are only considering students who will be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in the summer of 2024 and will be projected to graduate in the Fall/Winter of 2024 or Spring of 2025.
The DTC (direct to consumer, or retail) eCommerce Engineering intern is an integral addition to our team during the summer. Interns are provided a project to complete during their time but may also be assigned various smaller projects. These projects focus on areas that the team has identified that need improvement and are meant to deliver meaningful outcomes to the intern and the team.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
DTC eCommerce Engineering is responsible for the frontend (user interface and experience) and backend (commerce engine) systems that power the global website for some of golf’s most iconic brands: Callaway, TravisMathew, OGIO, TopGolf, and Jack-Wolfskin. DTC eCommerce develops and maintains the global digital face of Topgolf Callaway using a mix of technologies, like React/Next.js and Java, via responsive UIS, and expressive GraphQL and ReSTful APIs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete an assigned project designed to improve code coverage and testability of our flagship digital properties by the end of the internship
- Assist the DTC eCommerce Engineering team in development and testing of new features
- Attend all required project and team meetings
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Demonstrate strong communication skills – both verbal and written and be able to relate to all levels of employees and customers
- Must be able to work in a fastpaced environmentand meet assigned deadlines.
- Must be selfmotivated and be able to demonstrate initiative
- Familiarity with React/Next.js and/or Java
- Familiarity with API and service development
- Familiarity with testing concepts, including unit testing and contract testing
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years related coursework or experience completed in one of the following undergraduate majors: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering
- Previous internship experience recommended
