Responsibilities
What Will You Do?
As a Navistar intern, you will:
- Immerse Yourself in the Trucking Industry: Develop a deep understanding of the trucking industry and become well-versed in Navistar's products, customers, values, and processes.
- Contribute to the Future of Transportation: Work on exciting projects, including the preparation and launch of commercial vehicles and the exploration of emerging technologies, such as electric vehicles.
- Support Efficiency and Innovation: Collaborate with our team to create and refine process documentation, streamline part routing to workstations, develop training materials, and assist with equipment and process trials.
- Enhance Your Skills: Conduct time studies, design and execute line balance strategies, and actively participate in and lead Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement projects.
- Champion Lean Principles: Assist in coaching and training team members in the principles of lean manufacturing, contributing to a culture of efficiency and excellence.
Minimum Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B or F-1 status)
Desired Skills
- At least Sophomore standing for undergrad at the time of application
- Able to work at least 12 weeks (starting the end of May or early June through August)
- Previous applicable internships
- Self-starter
- High level of computer skills (Microsoft Applications and Internet)
