Summary
This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in the Facilities Planning and Projects (NWM) organization of Workplace Services (NW), Chief Administrative Office (N), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).
A successful candidate in the Interior Designer position will serve as an Interior Designer and technical specialist, assisting with the project management and technical facets of all interior design and space planning aspects of the Facilities Planning and Projects program.

Duties
As an Interior Designer, you will:
  • Manage the implementation of the project on a daily basis (may include multiple projects) with regard to scope, budget, schedule and quality.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and collaborates, coordinates, and partners with other organizations in order to execute strategic project outcomes.
  • Implement a wide-range of communications with internal and external organizations. Maintains consistent communications with the project sponsor, resource managers, and other stakeholders on the progress of the project against the plan. Issues regular status reports.
  • Provide technical representation on the interior design and space planning aspects of the program, all projects managed, and related matters.
  • Participate in interagency and intra-agency committees and working groups for resolving problems in agency-wide systems and programs.
  • Provide guidance on the interpretation and implementation of technical policy directives and programs.

  • Selectee will be required to complete the Office of Government Ethics Standard of Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OFGE450e) within 30 days of employment and annually.
  • May be required to serve as Contracting Officers Representative for BPA grants and agreements; this duty includes additional training and certification.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience that required the performance of work concerned with the design and alteration of interior spaces to meet functional and aesthetic needs such as: (1) Facilitating the interior design program of the organization (e.g. interior programming, occupancy analysis, space planning, design analysis, using specialized knowledge of interior construction, building systems and components, building codes, equipment materials and furnishings), and (2) Managing projects, developing cost estimates, evaluating bid proposals, reviewing construction documents, participating in on-site construction visits, conducting pre- and post-occupancy evaluations, developing standards for efficient space management, and coordinating with multiple architectural and engineering disciplines.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
