Position:Intensive Care Unit Nurse

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The ICU Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients, collaborating with physicians, and providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on individual patient needs while adhering to evidence-based practice and care standards.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patient conditions and collaborate with physicians to provide comprehensive care.
- Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on ongoing assessments and patient needs.
- Identify patient needs and determine care priorities through assessment, intervention, and evaluation.
- Develop and coordinate individualized care plans for assigned patients based on initial and ongoing assessments.
- Initiate assessments based on patient problems, medical diagnoses, and functional health frameworks.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care effectively.
- Document care based on established standards and patient acuity.
- Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of innovative care delivery methods.
- Provide patient-centered care in alignment with professional nursing practice models.
- Float to different units within competency as required, including Cardiac Vascular & Post Surgical Stepdown Unit.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 1 year of Stepdown experience.
- Experience with ventilator and tracheostomy care.
- Proficiency in managing patients with Neuro, Trauma, and Surgical conditions.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Proficiency in NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale), Telemetry, and non-titratable drugs management.
- Experience with infusions (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Cardene) is preferred.
- Capability to manage and treat patients with various conditions, including flu, COVID-19, heart, and lung issues.
- Ability to perform neurological assessments is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in post-cardiac surgery and post-surgical patient care.
- Familiarity with ventilator management.
- Previous experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
- Competency in float requirements across similar units (Stepdown/Intermediate or Med Surg Telemetry).
