Classification: 40 hours. Full-Time. Full-Year – Non-Exempt
Position Details: Serves as the first point of contact for families with children ages 0-5 seeking to enroll their children, providing excellent customer service and support by performing central intake duties as appropriate. Assists in ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards ERSEA sections 1302.12, 1302.13 and 1302.14, ODJFS and MVCDC regulations, policies, and procedures through efficient systems enrollment.
Minimum Credentials: Must have a high school diploma and two years of customer relations or customer service experience. Ability to speak other languages preferred. Customer service experience and entering data into software system with proficient accuracy.
Preferred Credentials: Knowledge of Head Start program and ChildPlus.Associate degree in Business Administration or a related area and equivalent combination of experience.

Principal Functions of the Intake & Referral Specialist position:
• Carry forth the Mission statement of MVCDC, Inc.; support the quality management principles; and work toward the agency and program goals.
• Ability to provide basic explanation of MVCDC services and provide guidance on most appropriate program to meet the needs of families. Performs real time data entry into the Data Management software
with attention to detail to create electronic records.
• Conducts phone/in-person interviews and collects all required documents to establish eligibility according to ERSEA Performance Standards; discusses program options with the family.
• Enters appropriate information into the Child Plus database and prepares participant records for eligibility verification; ensures the accuracy of all eligibility documentation, data, and participant eligibility records.
• Maintains accurate status of all program leads in the Child Plus database.
• Maintains accurate, complete and correct documentation and records in ChildPlus for all calls and referrals.
• Provides guidance and instruction to decrease barriers for parents completing the application process.
• Acts as a liaison between families and programs, ensuring a seamless transition from inquiry to application acceptance.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Provides responses to voicemail, fax, email and website for new referrals and assigns per protocol on a daily basis.
• Troubleshoots issues related to data entry and contacts the Data Systems & Quality Coordinator to resolve issues and inconsistencies and/or missing data.
• E-mails/mails appropriate documentation to clients including appointment letters or any other referral follow up needs.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for recruitment and outreach activities

SALARY: Base salary compensation will be commensurate with meeting both Education and Experience.
