The Intake Pharmacy Technician works as part of the infusion pharmacy team and assists with patient care. The Intake Pharmacy Technician will provide the infusion pharmacy team with intake coordination for patients to the home setting and perform tasks relating to intake, insurance verification, authorization, and billing. As part of this position, employee will serve as a backup to compounding Pharmacy Technicians. Will report to Pharmacist-In-Charge.

Essential Functions Statement(s)- Coordinate referrals between hospitals, clinics, home health agencies and patient transition to home care.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Experience: Home infusion experience is preferred.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Word and Excel; and customized software. Ability to learn and adapt to changing technologies as the organization changes.
Certifications & Licenses:Pharmacy Technician preferred

Must be a self-started, highly organized, and able to work well with staff at all levels in the organization, and interpersonal skills. Must possess excellent speaking and oral communication skills.
