SAFY is seeking a full time Statewide Intake Manager in Alabama

As an Intake Manager, you will be responsible for processing referral information for both Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) and Intensive In-Home Services (IIHS). This position will build stakeholder partnerships to fill IIHS slots and develop foster parent relationships to increase census.

What You’ll Do

  • Process referral information in a timely manner and field questions about services provided from referral agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of demographic information on referred youth.
  • Effectively communicate information concerning referrals to staff. Be aware of status of each Foster Home and their requirements for accepting or denying referrals.
  • Provide reporting to the supervisor and make recommendations to the team on homes without placement.
  • Keep supervisor aware of trends, feedback and issues from the referral agencies while maintaining communication with SDHR using their Portal system for referrals.
  • Completes intake summary on each referral and maintains intake statistics monthly. Keep stats on all reviewed youth.
  • Utilize systems like Binti, SOAR, SAFY Portal, Foster Home Report from Power BI to increase one’s knowledge of existing and in-process families to match with the State’s census needs. Develop overall program evaluation format and compile all statistical data.
  • Provide training to prospective families during pre-service on the type of children in care and the intake process as well as foster parent requirements.
  • Attend at least one foster parent even per division every 6 months to build rapport with the foster home next work.
  • Review the home study of every new home licensed and make a welcome call within 72 hours of licensure, documenting in a case note in Binti.
  • Work with the IIHS team in conducting PR visits for counties in the service region. Must visit major referral source twice a year and minor referring agencies annually.
  • Responsible for collecting Intake paperwork.
  • Works in close cooperation with the Senior Executive Director, Treatment Directors/Program Manager, Lead Licensing Specialist and COMQI.
  • Gather SAFY statistics for necessary monthly reporting to SDHR.
  • Make contact with County offices regarding open IIHS slots for the state working in conjunction with the Program Manager, TD to increase slot utilization.
  • Strong emphasis in helping SAFY increase program utilization.
  • Ability to watch and analyze metrics.
  • Help SAFY maintain a positive image with referring agencies.

Other:

  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of SAFY staff by participating in joint meetings, and problem identification and resolution.
  • Establish and maintain a supportive and positive working relationship with youth, foster parents, referring agencies, and other SAFY stake holders.
  • Attend relevant in-house and external seminars, trainings, conferences and workshops to develop and enhance knowledge in the designated area as well as achieve relevant education hours per year to enhance professional and job related skills.
  • Attends required meetings within division, region, and central office (team and/or community partners).
  • Participate in assigned committees and chairs if so appointed. If appointed, maintains liaisons with state and national organizations.
  • Meets regularly with supervisor to discuss issues and performance.
  • Submit monthly/quarterly reports to immediate supervisor.
  • Sensitive and responsive to the cultural differences of staff, SAFY youth, foster parents, referral sources and the public.
  • Conduct new staff orientation training as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the field of human services, public relations or related.

  • Social work degree welcomed.
  • Two years of experience with above listed degrees with experience in child welfare preferred. One year of relevant experience in management.
  • Experience with program utilization in the non-profit sector preferred.
