Description
As the Intake Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Intake department within our Specialty Home Infusion Pharmacy. You will be responsible for optimizing patient onboarding, ensuring compliance with intake processes, and managing a team that handles referrals directly from patients and prescriber offices.
Position Overview
1. Departmental Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and manage the Intake department, fostering a culture of excellence, empathy, and efficiency.
2. Patient Referral Management:
Oversee the intake process for referrals received directly from patients and prescriber offices, ensuring timely and accurate handling of all referrals.
3. Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, documentation standards, and industry guidelines related to patient intake and admissions.
4. Patient Admissions:
Collaborate with clinical teams to facilitate the admission process, ensuring that patients receive the necessary services and support promptly.
5. Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the intake cycle and drive initiatives to enhance departmental efficiency and accuracy.
6. Staff Development:
Recruit, train, and develop departmental staff, providing ongoing coaching and support to enhance their skills and patient-focused approach.
7. Communication:
Establish and maintain effective communication channels with prescriber offices, patients, and internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from referral to patient care.
8. Reporting and Analytics:
Oversee the generation of performance reports and metrics related to the intake process, providing insights for decision-making and continuous improvement.
9. Patient Advocacy:
Advocate for patients' needs and ensure their concerns and preferences are addressed during the intake process.
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in healthcare intake, with a strong background in patient referrals and admissions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient admission criteria, and industry best practices.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a patient-centric approach.
- Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in healthcare intake software and electronic health records.
