Insurance Underwriter
LHH Recruitment Solutions is searching for a full-time Insurance Underwriter on a direct-hire basis for a client in Sacramento, CA. Our client is seeking an Insurance Underwriter for sound decision-making regarding risk acceptability by applying underwriting principles through loss exposure analysis. They are seeking a qualified candidate with a minimum of three years of experience in medical professional and/or commercial insurance underwriting. The ideal candidate will be based in the greater Sacramento area, primarily working remotely with occasional in-person meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize underwriting principles and conduct loss exposure analysis to make informed decisions regarding risk acceptability.
Demonstrate proficiency in selecting, rating, controlling, and servicing the book of business to maintain profitability and foster growth.
Act as a resource across all Product Lines, including Professional Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Property, General Liability, and Workers Compensation.
Cultivate excellent communication and customer service skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.

Key Functions:
Analyze new business applications, renewal questionnaires, and endorsement requests to achieve profitable underwriting results.
Foster continued growth of the book of business by promptly addressing inquiries and concerns from agents, policyholders, and internal staff.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with coworkers, agents, and other business contacts.
Compile and interpret data for evaluating the assigned book of business.
Communicate verbally and in writing with various stakeholders regarding coverage, premium acceptability, and policy language.
Stay updated on regulatory requirements and policy forms in the states where they operate.
Act as a subject matter expert for Guidewire defect identification, research, and testing.
Provide guidance and training to underwriting assistants.
Maintain accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
Property and Casualty License required (or willingness to obtain).
AIS designation required; progress toward AU, ARM, RPLU, CPCU is desirable.
Proficiency in critical thinking, communication, and relationship skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
Proficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with good judgment and professionalism.
Compensation: $62k-80k

Pay Details: $62,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
