Job description

The Insurance Consumer Services Division Chief manages the day-to-day operations of the insurance investigator supervisor and insurance investigators handling health insurance complaints. If you are interested in this career opportunity apply today!
This position is responsible for organizing, training, evaluating, assigning, and managing the activities of insurance investigators and the insurance investigator supervisor engaged in the investigation of health insurance complaints. Conducting interviews, investigating and resolving complex and/or high-profile insurance related complaints. Reviewing complaint files and ensuring that investigations and overall handling of complaints and inquiries are handled in accordance with established bureau and/or department guidelines and procedures.
The incumbent will ensure that all leave, travel and other matters related to personnel comply with bureau, departmental and commonwealth guidelines and procedures Prepare employee performance evaluations; document and monitor progress; document, recommend and initiate corrective disciplinary action for misconduct by employees; document, recommend and initiate promotional activity for staff; and resolve or recommend resolutions to an employee grievance or complaint. Direct, participate, and/or coordinate work teams, assist the Bureau Director in handling special projects, represent the Department and Bureau in meetings, conferences, consumer fairs, Disaster Recovery Events and other settings, at venues within and outside of the Commonwealth.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as an Insurance Investigator Supervisor; or
  • Six years of professional experience in insurance underwriting, insurance investigations, claims adjustment, or as an insurance agent or broker, which includes two years of supervisory experience in insurance public contact work, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of supervisory experience in insurance public contact work.
