The Compliance Training Coordinatorwill work a hybrid schedule in the Avon, CT office or remotely.

This newly created role will be responsible for developing training tools such as reference charts, formalized procedures, and policy writing guidelines consistent with the regulatory requirements associated with all states workers' compensation. The candidate must be well versed in proof of coverage requirements, bureau criticisms, advance and conditional notice of renewals, cancellation, and non-renewal with the goal of driving consistency and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the implementation of operational and policy service workflow processes and standards. Ensures effective implementation among new hires on WC team.
  • Provides project and status report information aligned with training initiatives.
  • Identifies gaps or roadblocks preventing training methods to Underwriting Operations Director. Provides recommendations to resolve and prevent inconsistencies in process approach to ensure business results are met.
  • Maintains updated procedures and processes, develops new workflows as business dictates.
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships through on-going dialogue with Underwriting Managers, Operations Manager and Director of UW Operations.
  • Review and interpret underwriting rules in both NCCI Basic Underwriting manuals and Independent Bureaus to assist in providing direction in response to Bureau Criticisms.
  • Manages overall responses to Bureau Criticisms are completed timely to avoid fines or penalties.
  • Participate in projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7- 10 years' experience in the property casualty insurance industry; with 5+ years Workers Compensation experience.
  • Project leadership or Training experience a plus.
  • Policy Service background with emphasis on Workers Compensation.
  • Experience with: Agency Management Systems, various Policy rating and issuance systems; IMS, Policy Decisions a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Proof of Coverage, NCCI, Independent Bureau manuals, WC Rules/Forms, and ODEN policy terminator.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access or other database experience required.
  • Excellent math, problem solving, and project management skills required.
  • Working knowledge of insurance coverages, procedures and terminology.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
